DETROIT – ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that the Detroit Lions are expected to sign Pro Bowl guard Kevin Zeitler to a one-year deal.

Adding to the anticipation, the Baltimore Ravens big man is set to fly to Detroit on Monday night (March 18) for a physical. If all goes well, he will be signing with the Lions on Tuesday.

Zeitler, a standout in the league, earned his first Pro Bowl selection in February. His exceptional performance in the 2023 season, with a staggering 93.8% pass block win rate and a 61.8% run block win rate, allowed only six sacks on two-time MVP Lamar Jackson.

The Lions lost guard Jonah Jackson to the Los Angeles Rams at the start of free agency, so adding Zeitler would be a helpful addition.

The 34-year-old guard out of Wisconsin stands at 6′4″, 315 pounds, so the behemoth of a man will keep quarterback Jared Goff upright for most of the season.
