Mental exercise is not only important for humans, but can benefit our pets too

Advice on ways to keep your pet mentally simulated and calm

It’s no secret that we are all supposed to exercise daily, but we aren’t the only ones who need that enrichment. Our pets need it too, so they can burn off stress and energy.

Ann-Marie Chamberlain with Michigan Humane stopped by “Live in the D” to share what you can do as a daily enrichment for your pet. “Put on some calming music, to get your dog to stay calm,” she said. She also suggest using puzzle feeders for mental stimulation, and have different toys to help them with different textures and different sounds.

Chamberlain brought a pet in with her who’s available for adoption. The Mike Morse Law Firm will pay for the standard adoption fee for anyone who adopts today’s pet of the week.
