Lions lose WR Josh Reynolds to Broncos

Reynolds scored 10 TDs as a Lion

Josh Reynolds won’t be catching passes from Jared Goff next year in Detroit.

The wide receiver has reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with the Denver Broncos, creating a new void for the Lions in the pass catcher room.

Lions general manager Brad Holmes said just this week that re-signing Reynolds was still a top priority for the team, but it looks like he got a better offer elsewhere.

Reynolds was claimed off waivers by the Lions in 2021, pairing him with his former Rams quarterback Jared Goff in Detroit. He became a reliable target for Goff over the last three seasons.

Some fans didn’t want Reynolds back after he dropped two big passes in the NFC Championship game vs. the 49ers. Now they’ve got their wish.

The Lions will now probably need to sign a free agent receiver or target one in the draft. I’d bet draft.

The Lions did re-sign wide receiver Donavan Peoples-Jones, who could help fill the spot, too.
