Looking for something fun to do, but want to avoid the summer heat? Then why not see what’s heating up the big screen. Local 4’s film expert Greg Russell chats with Jeff Bridges, Simon Helberg, Jamie Dornan, and more about movies coming out this weekend.
"Hell or High Water" is a modern day Western that stars Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and Gil Birmingham. This film dives into the desperate act of two brothers (Pine and Foster) robbing the very banks that are trying to take their family home from them. As the heists continue, it is up to two Texas Rangers (Bridges and Birmingham) to catch these men.
"Florence Foster Jenkins" is a biographical dramedy based on true events about Florence Foster Jenkins (Meryl Streep) and her quest to be an opera singer, even though she is not that talented. None of her family or friends (Hugh Grant and Simon Helberg) have the heart to tell her that she is a terrible singer. So she decided to put on a performance at Carnegie Hall for soldiers that have been fighting in WWII.
"Anthropoid' is a historical thriller based on the true events of Operation Anthropoid. It is about two Czechoslovakian agents (Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy) who go back to Nazi occupied Prague in order to assassinate Officer Heydrich, who was third in command to Hitler.
