12 from Michigan make the 2017 Forbes World's Billionaires list

A dozen people from Michigan made the 2017 Forbes World's Billionaires list.

Topping the list of Michiganders, the Meijer brothers - Hank and Doug Meijer - worth a combined $7.2 billion, according to Forbes.

The Meijer brothers came in at No. 194 overall on the list.

Marian Ilitch came in at No. 239, third in Michigan, with $6 billion.

Quicken Loans chairman Dan Gilbert clocked in at No. 250 with 5.8 billion.

Amway co-founder Richard DeVos was listed at No. 269 with $5.6 billion.

Three connected to Michigan-based Stryker were among the richest.

William Young, co-founder of Plastipak, came in at No. 973 with $2.1 billion. 

Roger Penske, Martha Ford and Manny Moroun also made the list, each at around $1.5 billion.

Topping the Forbes list in 2017 was Bill Gates, with an estimated net worth of $86 billion, followed by Warren Buffer at $75.6 billion.
