16-year-old accused of killing mother, who fell from window of mansion in Farmington Hills

35-year-old woman found dead in home

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – A 16-year-old boy is accused of killing his mother in Farmington Hills, police said.

The 35-year-old woman was found dead on the patio outside the family's home on Howard Road near Drake Road. Police said they were called to the home around 6:40 a.m. Monday and pronounced the woman dead.

Police originally investigated the death as an accident, but Farmington Hills detectives said they discovered evidence that it was homicide. It was determined that she died by falling out a window of the mansion.

The teenager was taken into custody by Farmington Hills police and is being held at the Oakland County Children's Village, which is a juvenile detention center in Farmington Hills.

No further information was released as the investigation continues.
