DETROIT – Two people were killed and three more were taken to the hospital Thursday after a two-car crash on Detroit's west side, police said.
Police said a gray Camaro was speeding near Pickford and Whitcomb avenues when it crashed and landed on top of a burgundy Malibu.
Two people, a 20-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to the hospital and both are listed in temporary-serious condition.
The driver of the Camaro, a 37-year-old man, was also taken to the hospital in temporary-serious condition and has been placed in police custody.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
