Crash in Detroit kills 1 motorcyclist, leaves another in critical condition

Motorcycles, car collide at intersection of McNichols, Hubbell Avenue

DETROIT – One motorcyclist has died from his injuries and another is in critical condition after being involved in a crash with a car on Detroit's west side early Thursday morning.

Police said the motorcyclists were going westbound on W. McNichols Road when they collided with a silver sedan that was going southbound on Hubbell Avenue. Police said it appears the car ran a red light at the intersection.

Police said the male driver of the car left the scene on foot, but a female passenger stayed. Police are searching for that male driver.

A Local 4 source said the motorcyclists are both in their 50s.

A man identified by friends as "Rico" died at a hospital later Thursday.

Family members have identified the other as Reginald Mills (pictured below). His daughter tells Local 4 he is fighting for his life in the hospital. He has a blood clot on his brain and will need more surgery.
