DETROIT – A 13-year-old girl and a 21-year-old man are dead after a two gunmen opened fire on them Tuesday while they were in a car on Detroit's east side that had another 13-year-old and a 7-year-old boy around it.
The shooting happened near Troester and Hayes streets. It was captured on cellphone video by a witness.
Local 4 exclusive obtained the video and spoke with the witness, who asked to remain anonymous.
The video begins with one of the 13-year-olds and the 7-year-old riding on the hood of a black Dodge Challenger.
When the gunfire erupts, both fall to the ground.
"At the same time the shooting started, there were two individuals that were seated on the hood of the car and the victim -- the driver -- took off at a high rate of speed. Both people seated on the hood of the car fell off and were injured ... and the vehicle struck the building across from the location where they were parked," said Detroit Police Chief James Craig.
The Challenger's 21-year-old driver, Stevan Henderson, and 13-year-old passenger Aaliyah Thomas, were shot to death.

The 13-year-old who was on the hood of the car is in critical condition. The 7-year-old is in temporary serious condition.
Police said the men were targeting Henderson and disregarded the fact that the other victims were present.
Police are searching for the gunmen, who are only described as two young black men. One of them was wearing bright orange gym shoes. Craig said they were armed with handguns.
