DETROIT – Police say six people are being treated for injuries after a crash involving a Detroit Department of Transportation bus on Detroit's west side Thursday.
Police said a 74-year-old man turned in front of a DDOT bus at the intersection of Grand River Avenue and Fenkell Street. While police said it's unclear who was at fault, the DDOT bus struck the vehicle the man was driving, injuring him and five people on the bus.
Police said the five injured passengers on the bus were treated for minor injuries. The man driving the other vehicle is reportedly in serious condition.
"I'm just glad he's still alive," said Marie Walters Gill, the sister of the man driving the car. "He just celebrated his 74th birthday this month."
No other details were immediately released.
