HARPER WOODS, Mich. – A 94-year-old woman was the victim of a home invasion by a man claiming to be a police officer Tuesday morning in Harper Woods.
The woman found the man at about 7:15 a.m., walking around inside her home in the 19300 block of Old Homestead Drive and she confronted him.
The man told the woman he was a police officer. The man was not wearing a uniform and did not produce identification.
He fled the home with a television and the victim’s wallet. Harper Woods police began searching the area and determined the thief broke into the home through a rear bedroom window.
The man was described as black, light complexion, 20 to 25 years of age, clean shaven, and was wearing a green and tan jacket.
