Hundreds attend funeral for funeral of murdered Grosse Pointe Park mom

Jane Bashara found murdered in Detroit a week ago

GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. – Before people arrived for the funeral service of Jane Bashara there was a somber moment outside Grosse Pointe Memorial Church.

90 minutes before the 10:30 service began police had to direct traffic along Lake Shore Drive.

By 10:00 a.m. the parking lots were full.

Jane Bashara's husband, Bob Bashara did not make a public entrance into the church.

Bashara could be seen leaving his Grosse Pointe Park home about an hour before the funeral began. He entered the church through a back door before the crowds arrived.

Bashara was found dead Wednesday in the SUV which was parked in an alley near 7 Mile Road and Hoover Street in Detroit. Investigators tell Local 4 they don't believe she was killed in Detroit. They believe she was brought to Detroit after she was dead.

Moreover, police don't believe her killer acted alone. Sources tell Local 4 that an accomplice helped stage the crime scene as a robbery gone wrong. It was not.

Bashara's husband, Bob Bashara, has been questioned by police and voluntarily took a polygraph test on Friday, which he failed. He has become the lone person of interest in the case.
