Gracy and Ellison have been arraigned in district court and denied bond.
Klee wore No. 42 on Pioneer High School's varsity football team. He had just entered his senior year when friends said he started attending classes less and less.
"He was drifting this year," a friend said.
Right after dismissal Oct. 4, the body of an 18-year-old boy turned up on a path right outside Lorenzo Patterson's apartment complex on the city's west side.
"It's scary to think about it (happened) right there," said Patterson, a classmate of the victim. "What if (it) was me?"
Police still don't know why the shooting happened.
Investigation revealed a maintenance worker found Klee on the dirt path around 3 p.m. Tuesday. It's believed that Klee's body was there for a few hours before anyone found him.
Patterson said he wondered who was killed, but when he arrived at school, teachers informed everyone about Klee's death.
"There were counselors open," Patterson said. "A lot of people were shocked and crying."
The violent ending to the young life has left Pioneer seniors realizing that life truly is precious.
"It's really scary to know that someone can do that to an innocent life," Carrie Duerksen said.
