Armed robbery committed against pregnant woman in Wayne

WAYNE, Mich. – Authorities responded to a report of an armed robbery Wednesday at the intersection of Van Born and Howe Roads.

Wayne Police Department said that the victim was a 29-year-old pregnant woman from Romulus, who was accosted while leaving an area business.

Two subjects approached the woman, one armed with a gun, and demanded her car keys. The two subjects fled the area, but were arrested a short time later by Wayne Police officers.

One subject, a 16-year-old Wayne resident, was taken to the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility. 

The other subject was identified as Richard Maxwell Scott, a 17-year-old Wayne resident who was charged with armed robbery, carjacking and felony firearm by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.

His next court date is set for Dec. 15.
