OXFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Boil Water Advisory was issued Tuesday morning for some residents of Oxford Township due to a water main break.
Residents in the area of Golf Villa, east of Sanders, north of the boundary between Orion and Oxford townships and west of South Lapeer Road may have lost pressure and there is a potential for pollutants to enter the system, according to the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner.

No actual contamination has been detected in the system. As a precautionary measure, all water customers in the affected area are advised to boil all water used for drinking and cooking.
Drinking water should be boiled for at least five minutes and allowed to cool before consumption.
The Precautionary Boil Water Notice will end once water sample test results are in compliance with Michigan Department of Environmental Quality guidelines.
