Cars catch fire outside Comerica Park

DETROIT – Thick black smoke and flames erupted in a parking lot outside of Comerica Park during a Tigers game Sunday afternoon.

The Detroit Fire Department said seven vehicles were destroyed and another two were damaged from the heat.

The parking lot, Prime Parking, is located between Gratiot Avenue, Madison and Beaubien streets.

Firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The fire department said they don't believe this was arson.

No one was injured.
