MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – The driver in a westbound Interstate 94 crash on Friday was arraigned Monday on charges of operating while intoxicated causing death and possession of marijuana.
Christopher Sereck Buckerfield, 27, of Clinton Township, rolled his 2008 Suzuki SX4 on westbound I-94 near Shook Road about 11:20 p.m. Friday. His passenger, 28-year-old Eddie Griffin, of Warren, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Buckerfield was taken to McLaren Hospital to be treated for injuries and was released the next day.
Sheriff's deputies had been dispatched to the freeway before the crash on a report that a red vehicle had been "swerving all over the road."
Buckerfield remains in jail. His next scheduled court appearance is set for Feb. 23.
