Lawmakers suit up for Congressional Baseball Game

Congress announced Thursday that the annual Congressional Baseball Game is still on after Wednesday's attack during the GOP practice.

Rep. Steve Scalise and four others were injured during the shooting. Michigan native Matt Mika, of Oakland County, was also among the victims.

It was unclear if the game would be canceled after the attack, but Congress announced that it would be played as planned at 7:05 p.m. Thursday in Washington Nationals Park.

About the attack

The gunman who fired on lawmakers at the GOP baseball practice has been identified as James T. Hodgkinson, 66.

Hodgkinson has a violent criminal history, and FBI agents said they believe he had been living out of his car in the Alexandria area since March.

He was brought down by Capitol Police.

Witnesses described the actions of the officers who brought down Hodgkinson as "heroic."
