BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – Video captured from the dashboard camera of a Birmingham police officer’s patrol car shows a man driving down the wrong side of the road before striking the side of a patrol car, knocking off the side mirror.
The incident was reported last month on Woodward Avenue in Birmingham.
Birmingham police received a call around midnight about a wrong-way driver and it didn’t take them long to find the driver making his way down the wrong side of the road on Woodward.
The video shows 29-year-old Jason Andrew driving a Ford F-150 driving on the wrong side of the road before striking the approaching officer's vehicle.
Andrew was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated after tests showed that he had a blood alcohol content of .17 percent or higher.
