Deontae Mitchell hasn't been seen or heard from since Tuesday night, when he was last with his cousin outside Nino's Market at 15901 E. Warren on the city's east side.

UPDATE: Police release images of suspect in Detroit boy's abduction

Police said Mitchell's cousin told them a drunk man dropped some money while urinating outside the market, and Mitchell picked it up. The two left the market on bikes about 10:30 p.m., but the cousin said Mitchell was then grabbed by a black man in a black or dark blue 2002 Chevy Impala, police said. The Impala had a loud muffler.

“All we know is that he came to the store and he was kidnapped,” said Mitchell’s cousin, Aniesha Hodge. “A grown man snatched him off his bike, and our other little cousin ran off running asking for help.”

The man might be carrying a pistol and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Mitchell is described as 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 86 pounds. He was wearing a lime green Nautica shirt, gray jogging pants and black gym shoes.

The FBI has joined in this investigation.

Anyone with information on Mitchell is asked to call 911 or Detroit police at 313-596-2200.
