Detroit rapper, girlfriend injured in shooting outside Eastland Center

Woman in critical condition after being shot in mall parking lot

HARPER WOODS, Mich. – Two people were shot Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot outside Eastland Center (mall) in Harper Woods.

Police were investigating in the parking lot on the west side of the mall. Shell casings littered the parking lot just outside the Macy's store.

A 30-year-old man and a woman in her 20s were shot as they were walking out of the building. The woman is in critical condition while the man is in serious condition at a nearby hospital.

The woman works at the mall and was exiting an employee door when the man came up to her to talk. They spoke before a car with three men inside rolled up and shot both of them.

In all, 30 rounds were fired from an assault rifle. Police are looking for a specific vehicle but are not releasing details on it because they have "really good" information on the shooter.

Harper Woods and Detroit police both are searching for the men.
