FedEx driver killed by driver fleeing from another crash

Witnesses say driver who hit FedEx van ran stop sign

DETROIT – A FedEx driver was killed on the job Tuesday in a multiple-car crash at Newport Street and Chandler Park Drive on Detroit's east side.

The crash happened just after 2:45 p.m., police said.

Witnesses told police the driver who caused the crash was fleeing the scene of a previous crash they caused by running through a stop sign.

The car hit the FedEx truck and killed the driver.

The driver responsible was taken to the hospital with minor injuries before being arrested, police said.
