Former Notre Dame Marist football coach accused of soliciting sex with child

FBI: Robert Lesnau arranged to have sex with woman's 6-year-old daughter

PONTIAC, Mich. – When Robert Lesnau showed up at a Rochester Red Roof Inn he thought he was going to have sex with a 6-year-old girl, according to the details released by the FBI.

It started with a post on Craigslist. A woman was offering adult services. The FBI says Lesnau responded to the ad by phone, heard the woman's daughter crying in the background and asked how much it would cost to have sex with the child.

Lesnau is a former football coach at Notre Dame Marist Academy. The school is aware and has sent home a letter alerting parents of his arrest for soliciting sex with a minor.

The FBI builds its case in federal court records, showing how it traced the phone number to Lesnau and the IP address to his printing business in Sterling Heights. The FBI then recorded him on the phone and has text messages from him.

In the text messages, Lesnau tells the woman (who was an informant for the FBI at this point), "I'm not doing it unless I see you and her topless so I know you are for real." Then he texts, "I'll give you $200." He also asks, "Has she ever touched (male genitalia)?"

He showed up at the Red Roof Inn to have sex with the child and was promptly busted by the feds.
