Fraser resident arrested after soliciting sex from 15-year-old, police say

Macomb County sheriff reminds parents to stay vigilant

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – A concerned mother reported to Macomb County Sheriff's Office she believed that a 30-year-old man had contacted her 15-year-old daughter online and was attempting to have a sexual encounter with her.

Authorities said that the report was turned over to the Macomb Area Computer Enforcement unit, who arranged a meeting. The man believed he was meeting with the teenage girl, with whom he had requested sexual relations with over the course of several days, while aware of her age, said police.

Police said the man arrived at the location where undercover detectives were waiting. Nicholas Aubert of Fraser, was taken into custody without incident. He was in possession of a box of condoms.

“Talk with your children about the dangers of the internet and risks of putting personal information onto the World Wide Web," Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said. "Make them aware that strangers do not always have good intentions and that profiles are not always honest.”

Aubert is being held at the Macomb County Jail and has been charged with one count of accosting for immoral purposes and one count of communicating with another to commit a crime. He was given a $10,000 personal bond. Upon his release, he is to be tethered on home confinement.
