Four children were killed and their mother was injured Wednesday morning in Dearborn Heights where a father turned himself in to police.
One of the victims, 17-year-old Kara Allen, step-daughter of the suspect, is being remembered by her peers on social media.

Allen was a senior at Southfield High School for Arts and Technology. She was a member of the school news staff, varsity cheerleading team, and was a member of the National Honor Society.
According to the Southfield Times, students were informed of the tragedy by their teachers and counselors.
“It doesn’t make sense,” said Allen’s former English teacher Virna Hobbs-Calhoun. “She was a bright student; it was a waste of talent.”
