The man is expected to turn himself into the 23rd District Court on two counts of reckless driving and two counts of a moving violation, both causing serious impairment of body function.
An arraignment is expected Tuesday according to the Taylor Police Chief.
The crash occurred at about 3 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Ecorse and Holland Roads, which kept Ecorse Road closed for two and a half hours during the rescue and crash investigation.
The teenagers were immediately flown by helicopter for medical treatment.
The driver, a 16-year-old boy from Taylor, was taken to the University of Michigan Medical Center. The passenger, 14-year-old Dearborn Heights girl, was taken to Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Family has identified them as David Cyr and Gianna Kenniburg.
The teens are in serious but stable condition as of this morning. Police said both sustained numerous broken bones and the girl suffered a head injury.
Traffic investigators said the crash was caused by the Advanced Disposal garbage truck as it turned left from westbound Ecorse onto southbound Holland going head-on into the small Hyundai that the teens were in, not giving either driver enough time to stop.
The garbage truck driver wasn't hurt, but was found to have been at fault for the crash according to police.
