GROSSE POINTE FARMS, Mich. – An officer jumped in to Lake St. Clair and rescued a man Wednesday morning in Grosse Pointe Farms.
The rescue happened at about 8:30 a.m. off Lake Shore Drive.
Sources said a woman was jogging and saw a man in the water. She called police.
Officer Geoff McQueen arrived on the scene and jumped into the icy water to rescue the man. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Police said the man was walking near the break wall when he fell in to the water.
McQueen is a 20-year police veteran and is a father of three boys.
