Half-naked mother arrested for DUI with children in the back seat

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police were stunned to find a half-naked woman behind the wheel of a broken down vehicle with two children in the backseat Saturday. The driver was allegedly intoxicated.

Officers from the Bloomfield Township Police Department responded to a disabled vehicle in the area of I-75 and Adams Road at about 3 a.m.

The 1998 Chevrolet Blazer was found on the side of the freeway. A 25-year-old woman was in the driver’s seat wearing only a tank top and underwear.

Police said she was sluggish and smelled of alcohol.

An adult man was in the passenger seat and two children, ages 2 and 3, were in the back seat.

The woman told police she had drank a few beers earlier in the night at a party in Pontiac. A search of her purse revealed a prescription bottle of Xanax.

The driver had multiple suspensions on her driver’s license and was arrested for the suspensions and OWI.

Further investigation showed the driver had a prior OWI conviction out of Lapeer in 2011.

The children were turned over to a responsible adult family member.
