DETROIT – Hank is our consumer investigative reporter and the head of WDIV's "Help Me Hank" consumer unit. He works to solve consumer complaints, reveal important recalls and track down thieves who have ripped off metro Detroiters.

Hank returned to Detroit, his hometown, to join the Local 4 news team in 2001.

During his time at WDIV, he has worked as a general assignment reporter, weekend morning anchor, Local 4 Defender and now as a consumer investigator.

His reporting has earned him 3 Emmy awards, along with several honors from the Associated Press and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

His investigative report revealing the problem of unpaid water bills in Detroit was honored as the top investigative story of 2014 by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

The story made headlines around the world, sparked protests and forced changed here in Detroit.

He's reported from Washington after 9/11, tracked Hurricane Wilma in Florida and provided extensive live coverage from the Virginia Tech massacre.

Hank landed an exclusive interview with Dr. Jack Kevorkian after his release from prison and years later broke the news of Kevorkian's death.

Cecelia Chihan, the lone survivor of flight 255 spoke out for the first time in 25 years and Hank exclusively shared her inspirational story with Local 4 viewers.

The fugitive mom, Susan Lefevre contacted Hank from prison wanting to share her story detailing her escape from prison and surprising arrest 30 years later.

And, Detroit Lions fans may remember the interview Hank did with Bill Ford, Jr. For the first time Ford publicly expressed his disappointment with the Lions and then General Manager Matt Millen. Within days, Millen was fired.

Hank has also appeared on Dateline NBC and The Today Show offering insight on high profile cases including the murder investigations of both Tara Grant and Jane Bashara.

Before coming home, the proud Central Michigan University alum (Fire Up Chips) worked at several television stations, including stops in Marquette, Lansing, Flint/Saginaw and Miami, Florida.

Hank is a supporter of the Karmanos Cancer Institute. He serves as emcee of KCI's yearly fundraiser, which brings in millions of dollars to battle cancer in Detroit.

Hank and his partner, a local attorney, proudly call metro Detroit home.
