SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A house caught fire Saturday afternoon in Shelby Township, according to fire officials.
The fire occurred on East Pearson Road near Van Dyke.
Neighbors said that within minutes the house was up in flames.
The family of four who live in the house was out shopping when the fire started. Concerned neighbors broke through windows to be sure no one was in the house.
Many witnesses said they heard what sounded like an explosion.
It is unclear at this time where the fire started or what caused it.
The incident is under investigation.
