WATERLOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two parents face charges after an infant's body was found in a shallow grave in Jackson County, west of Detroit.
Police found the body Saturday in the backyard of the couple's former home in Waterloo Township.
Jackson County Undersheriff Christopher Kuhl says it's estimated the infant was buried six to seven months ago. The child is believed to have been 6 months to a year old at the time of death.
Police in Dayton, Ohio, called Jackson County authorities after receiving an anonymous tip about the dead child.
The parents are jailed in Ohio. They are awaiting extradition to Michigan on charges of concealing a death and removing a body without medical examiner approval.
