Richard Wershe Jr. had a 4-hour parole board hearing Thursday to decide if he will have the chance to be released from prison.
Wershe, nicknamed "White Boy," is serving a life sentence in prison since he was convicted of possessing more than 650 grams of cocaine in 1988. He has spent the past 29 years behind bars as a nonviolent juvenile offender.
His fight for freedom has gained national attention. There is a Hollywood movie about it scheduled to premier next year.
