Lansing man killed in Auburn Hills hit-and-run crash

Witness says they saw man laying in road

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Police are investigating after a man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Auburn Hills.

At 3:41 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, first responders received a call reporting a person lying in the road on South Boulevard near Sheffield Road in Auburn Hills.

Bloomfield Township police and fire crews were the first to arrive on scene. They found a man in the road who had been injured and was later pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The man was later identified as a 40-year-old man from Lansing, Michigan.

A witness told investigators that they were driving west on South Boulevard when they saw the man laying in the west lanes of the road. The witness said another vehicle struck the man and did not stop.

The vehicle that struck the man was described as dark in color and may have been a crossover or a small SUV.

The crash is being investigated by the Auburn Hills Police Department and the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigations Team.
