The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office said Pontiac businessman and Commerce Township resident Sam Simko was killed on Jan. 13, 2025, after Creasy arranged a meeting with him as part of a plan by the four men to rob Simko and his business.

During a struggle, Prophett fired two rounds from a pistol, killing Simko.

Brown, Creasy, and Matacia were convicted on April 23, and Prophett was convicted in a separate trial on April 21.

On Thursday, June 11, the four men were sentenced to life without parole.

“For Sam Simko’s loved ones, his murder is a permanent loss,” said Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “Appropriately, his killers will spend the rest of their lives paying for the life they took from his family and friends.”
