DETROIT – A Detroit man has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder in connection with a fatal shooting on the city’s west side last fall.

According to police, the victim was shot around 3:30 p.m. Oct. 24 near the intersection of Humboldt Street and West Forest Avenue.

Officers responded to the area on reports of a shooting and found the victim’s body.

Police said a person of interest was seen fleeing the scene and was later picked up near a gas station on Warren Avenue and Lawton Street.

Details surrounding the shooting have not been released.

Authorities later identified Foster as a suspect in the case.

Foster is scheduled to return to court on June 18 for a probable cause conference.
