Man accused of buying explosives from FBI arraigned

A man who federal authorities say allegedly tried to purchase grenades from an undercover FBI officer faced a judge, Thursday.

Authorities say 29-year-old Sebastian Gregerson, also known as Abdurraham Bin Mikaayl, allegedly tried to purchase illegal grenades from undercover FBI agents.

Gregerson also allegedly told undercover agents he had an interest in weapons he could use to "in an attack."

Gregerson’s attorney said his client is an avid outdoorsman with no intentions of harming people, adding the self-proclaimed survivalist has twin sons and a wife of five years, who also attended the hearing.

Prosecutors in the case, however, did not agree.

Federal agents disclosed a sealed pleading from the government showing more serious allegations against Gregerson, implying the man may have had intentions on hurting people with the illegal weapons in his possession, and those he was attempting to purchase.

Authorities say weapons, including ammunition, tactical gear, and training materials were found inside Gregerson’s home with some of the weapons having the capability of injuring people within a radius of 49 feet.

Federal agents called Gregerson a "danger to the community."

Although Gregerson did not give any specific details on a plot to attack, prosecutors in the case said he owned what he called a ‘grab n go’ bag, which consisted of AK-47 magazines.

Defense says everything but the grenades was purchased legally and Gregerson is a 'prepper and a survivalist' who has not hidden any purchases of his other weapons.

The judge in the case denied bond for Gregerson, citing her particular concern for the alleged purchase of the grenades.
