DETROIT – A 51-year-old man was shot on the side of the road Thursday at 3 p.m. after he hit a pothole and pulled over to check on his car.
Police say the man was driving in metro Detroit when he hit the pothole, pulled over on the side of the road and got out to check on his car. While he was outside, two armed men tried to rob him, police say.

The man tried to get back in his car to escape from the robbers, but they fired shots and hit him in the legs, according to authorities.
Police say the man received non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are searching for two black men in their 20s, both 5 feet 9 inches tall. One was described as having medium complexion and wearing a brown Carhartt jacket with a hood and carrying a gun.
