Man wanted in connection with fatal Detroit funeral home shooting arrested in Pennsylvania

DETROIT – A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at a funeral home Thursday was arrested in Pennsylvania, Detroit police said.

Police said a man was shot and killed while walking into Cantrell Funeral Home at 10400 Mack Avenue.

Police said they were looking for 28-year-old Perez Smith Jr. in connection with the shooting. Smith Jr. was arrested in Pennsylvania on Monday, where police believe he has family. 

NBC affiliate WFMJ reported Saturday that there was a standoff while police attempted to arrest Smith in Pennsylvania, but he was not taken into custody. According to WFMJ, Smith's red Buick was towed.

Police said he may have been staying with family in Pennsylvania.
