STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Attorney General Bill Schuette's office has charged a metro Detroit doctor with 13 felonies, including criminal sexual conduct and conspiracy to deliver drugs.
Dr. John Verbovsky operated two clinics: Stout Family Medicine on Detroit's west side and Progressive Family Medicine in Sterling Heights.
According to the criminal complaint Verbovsky prescribed huge doses of pain medication to two female patients to get them hooked and then forced them to do sexual acts to continue receiving the drugs.
Investigators found photos of one of the alleged victims bound, gagged and on her knees on the doctor's computer.
In addition, Verbovsky is charged with writing multiple prescriptions for oxycodone to another female patient, knowing she would sell the pills and give him a cut of the proceeds.
The doctor turned himself in to be arraigned. Schuette's office is asking for a $1 million bond in this case.
The investigation is ongoing and the AG's office is looking for other victims.
