DEARBORN, Mich. – Henry Ford Museum is planning to display a permanent exhibition next year that has been acquired from the office of designers Charles and Ray Eames.
The Dearborn museum announced the acquisition of one of three versions of "Mathematica,", which was created to convey the world of numbers and math. It includes kinetic installations, models, timelines, imagery and physical interaction.

"Mathematica" served as "a better way to convey mathematical principles and ideas to visitors," said Patricia Mooradian, the museum's president. The version going on display was initially installed at the 1964 New York World's Fair.
"The exhibit sidesteps boundaries between education, play, art, and science — plus it's recognized historically as an Eames design landmark," said Marx Greuthre, chief curator and senior director of historical resources at the museum.
Details on when it will open to the public will be released later. Other "Mathematica" versions are installed in New York and Boston.
