AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The minute hand on Oakland University's Elliott Tower clock came loose and fell down about 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The hand fell off of the northwest face on the tower, which is located near the middle of the campus.

There are no reported injuries and a crew was on the scene within a few minutes to evaluate the situation and to assess the needed repairs.
The area around the clock has been secured and a contractor was on site to remove the hour hand, which remained on the clock after the minute hand fell.
The clock faces are about 9 feet 6 inches in diameter. The minute hand which fell off measured around 5 feet long.
The tower was constructed in 2014. It was a gift from long-time Oakland University supporters Hugh and Nancy Elliott.
