Dillard-Bothuell arrested for violating probation after purchasing pistol without permit

DETROITCharlie Bothuell's stepmother Monique Dillard-Bothuell was released from jail with a tether Saturday afternoon. Her husband, Charles IV, picked her up from the William Dickerson Detention Facility in Hamtramick around 1:55 p.m.

The two left the facility in their silver van after refusing to say anything to Local 4 reporters waiting for them there.

Dillard-Bothuell was arrested for violating her probation after previously being convicted for purchasing a pistol without a permit. This arrest was unrelated to Charlie's disappearance and discovery in the basement of his home.

Court documents accused Dillard-Bothuell of putting Charlie in the basement of their family's home and telling him to stay there while the search for him unfolded.
