Mother of 2 found murdered in west Detroit home

Neighbor says she heard scream, gunshot

DETROIT – A 32-year-old Detroit woman was found shot to death at her home in the 10500 block of West Outer Drive near Evergreen Road Thursday around 7:45 p.m.

The woman, identified by family members as Tiffany Monique Couch, is believed to have been found in the basement of the home. Police say she is a mother with two children.

A neighbor told Local 4 she heard a smash, scream and then a gunshot sometime Thursday afternoon.

"I heard a gunshot, I heard a scream," said Laquetta Davis. "I live here with my children, so I'm kind of shook up a little bit. I know she had two small, young daughters that actually played with my daughter."

Police say Couch's children were in school when their mother was killed. It was the school that called the children's father when they weren't picked up. Police say when the father went to the home, he was the first to discover the body.

Police say they interviewed the father of the children, but no arrests have been made in the case. The children are in the care of family members, and the incident is still under investigation.

Anyone with any information in this shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-773-2587.
