DETROIT – Police are investigating a shootout Tuesday night on Detroit’s west side where a mugger was shot in a failed holdup.
The man was shot in the chest on Ohio Street near the intersection of Beechdale Avenue after he approached a CPL holder and announced a holdup.
Gunfire was exchanged and the mugger was taken to the hospital. He is listed in critical condition.
The victim is being questioned by police.
