Police said two people are dead after an active shooter was reported Wednesday at North Lake College in Irving, Texas.
UPDATE (1:47 p.m. ET): Police said it appears one victim has been killed and the shooter committed suicide. "There appears to be no continuing threat," police tweeted, but officers continue to search the campus.

The college tweeted at 1:46 p.m. (ET) there are "no confirmed injuries," but that's contrary to what police followed up with a minute later.

CNN: Student says he heard 3 shots
From CNN:
Student Joseph Le told CNN he was in a campus building when he heard three shots and a male yell, "Leave her be!"
Le, who said he then took cover, said the shots sounded like they were fired inside the building.
Another student, Haseeb Ahmed, was in class when he heard three gunshots, he said. It wasn't immediately clear where the shots were fired.
Ahmed and his classmates barricaded the door to their classroom, he said.
"We gathered the hardest materials in our possession to throw if something happens," he said.

The Irving Police Department tweeted at 12:48 p.m. (ET) for people to avoid the area due to an active shooter at the college.
North Lake College is a community college in Irving, which is just west of Dallas.

Irving police said a public information officer is staged at the North Lake College entrance off of Walnut Hill Road. Officers are searching campus buildings.
