NEWARK, N.J. – A teenage girl was arrested on animal cruelty charges for allegedly throwing a cat off a third-story balcony and sharing it on social media.
NJ.com reports Tikeemah J. Lassiter, 19, posted the video to Instagram Thursday while visiting relatives in Newark, N.J.
A person be heard laughing in the background as the cat is thrown over the railing.
Someone who saw the video alerted police who arrested Lassiter Saturday.
Incredibly, the cat survived and was turned over to the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The cat immediately received veterinary care.
