Full statement:
Today, school officials at Northville High School were notified of an anonymous tip received through Michigan's new OK2Say hotline. The nature of the information provided through the tip suggested that a student may have a weapon with plans to use it during the school day. The building was immediately put into lock down and police were dispatched.
At this point, there is no threat to students or staff members, and the matter is under police investigation.
The police have requested that the building remain in lock down while the investigation is completed. The police have specifically requested that the parking lot remain clear, and that parents not attempt to pick up students. The building will remain in lock down while the police complete their investigation.
We anticipate that the lock down will be lifted shortly, and a follow up message will be sent at that time.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to ensure the safety of our students.
