Police said the shooting happened in the 6800 block of Ashton Avenue.

Officials said a silver car drove up to a home on Ashton Avenue when two people armed with guns approached them. Police said words were exchanged and the two men opened fire on the car.

The incident might have been an attempted carjacking, police said.

Three people were struck during the shooting. One person died from their wounds. The condition of the other two victims was not disclosed.

The identities of the victims were not released.

Police are hoping to get surveillance video from a nearby hope to identify the shooters. The gunmen are still on the loose.
