WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – A pontoon boat erupted into flames Thursday evening in West Bloomfield.
The boat caught fire on Sylvan Lake at about 8 p.m.

A man was out boating alone when he started the engine and the fire began. The fire was too big for his fire extinguisher.
Another boater pulled alongside and the man boarded.
No injuries were reported.
The West Bloomfield Fire Department extinguished the fire and towed the boat to shore.
