Friends, family and perfect strangers gathered Saturday outside April's church to try and start to heal. April was active in the youth ministry at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Armada. She had just been confirmed in May.
Later in the evening, there was a solemn walk along the route where it's believed April traveled with her dog, Penny, the night she was killed, from town to the Macomb County trail.

Those who attended the prayer service formed a circle on the pathway, vowing to never forget and sang "This Little Light of Mine" as they lit each others' candles in her memory.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward up to $2500 for information about April's death that leads to an arrest.
